Kids getting drunk on hand sanitizer: Alcohol based liquid hand cleaner warnings

In the past five years, record numbers of kids are getting drunk on hand sanitizer, reported KTRK on September 15. They're not just doing it for a dare or as an adolescent thing. Little children are innocently drinking alcohol based liquid hand cleaners because they like the taste. Nhaijah Russell, 6, swallowed a few squirts and it raised her blood alcohol level dangerously high! The little girl thought she was drinking strawberry flavored juice, but instead she got a shot of 95-proof booze! She arrived at the ER slurring her words and staggering. The poor girl had a BAC (blood alcohol content) of 179 twice the legal limit for adults! And all from a school-administered "drug" hand sanitizer.   Kids getting drunk on hand sanitizer: Alcohol based liquid hand cleaner warnings - Grand Rapids News | Examiner.com
